At the end of the 1st run set, I was 3rd fastest over all.....my afternoon runs I stuffed the car in the snow bank, twice!  Since in rally-x run times are cumulative, I ended up 3rd in Modified 2wd, and like 14th out 39 cars.....

ICE RACING! @ Garrison 2/27&28

This is the last weekend of Ice Racing.  It is going to be a fun one, it is Garrison's Winter Fest, which means there will be 3 tracks, one for cars, and two for sleds, atv's, & dirt bikes....plus wind boarding, planes, and maybe hot-air ballons.....PLUS there is a $500 purse for both AWD and FWD 15 laps sprint races!!

ICE Racing: Madison Lake, MN

So I took my road racing Neon out onto the lake in the Rubber-2-Ice division...here is what I learned...power is silly....don't need it...you are better off darn near stopping the car before some turns instead of going way wide and just spinning tires....Winterforce snow tires, are awesome for snow and rally-x but suck on fozen lake.

Thanks to Dave Kapon (Old Volks Home) for letting me race is Dodge Omni Turbo
-8 laps in practice, 3 lap qualifier, 10 lap sprint race (gridded 6th, finished 3rd).
Dave's Omni is the very last car in this picture.  Unfortunatly the car didn't finsh it's 3rd sprint race due to a clutch failure.

Car in the turtle position...not good!  Driver went WAAAY too fast into turn one.  Fortunatly no one was hurt.

Good times! I prolly put almost 30 miles on the car doing laps around the track between races! The black VW is a Passat G60 Syncro! This car never came to the US! Apparently this one originally was brought over from Europe from a military person and lived in florida....now a dedicated frozen lake racer!

They also have a FaceBook Group...Volunteers are loved....come out and flag at corner stations.... get compensated by a free lunch, and if you ask nicely you can take a few laps around the track or as a passenger in a race car during warmups or take your own car out for a few laps. I PLAN on making most of them.
