“After viewing the cars, walk the exhibit to see art works in cast bronze, photography, paintings on canvas or simple sketches. Each Velocity 2 artist looks at the automobile, or in some cases motorcycle, in a different way, a push of clay to denote forward motion, the spray of spattered paint to demonstrate the splash of air rushing across a fender or the streak of taillights from a photographer’s point of view. All are honoring the past while pushing the creative envelope today.
The invited artists of Velocity 2 are very special and at the top of their professions. The criteria for inclusion in this exhibit were that each participant artist demonstrates a strong understanding of the automobile or motorcycle and medium in which they work. Each artist brings their passion to Velocity 2 and asks only that you spend a moment inside their vision.” --Michael Jekot, Founder of Velocity: the Art of Motion; Doug Meythaler, Co-curator

NASCAR & SCCA @ BIR Memorial Day Weekend....
I'll get something more written up eventually! :)
Mark K. (Maaco Mineapolis), & Dave S.(Race Suit Rental) in Spec Racer Fords
Aaron Stehly, APR VW GTI
Tom F.
NASCAR K&N series in the pre-grid.
Taken from the pits...I was on fire bottle duty.
Racing against my old car.....now owned by Brent C.
A fun weekend indeed. I personally didn't do so well....plagued w/ back pain and drama in my personal life, caused me to spin and hit the wall going into Turn 12 during a practice session, and a spin & continue during race 1 at Turn 2....(100mph +, a real 'come to Jesus moment'), other than that just being slow.
Lots of rain; I need to invest into real rain tires and not just summer street tires. Thanks to John H. "Fossco Fabrication", Mark K. (Maaco Mpls.), and Mayhem Racing for their support.

An SCCA Track Day, also known as a “Performance Driving Experience”, offers you a chance to drive your car on a real race track under the watchful eye and guidance of a highly experienced driver riding with you in your car. It is an opportunity for you to explore the capabilities of your car at greater-than-highway speeds. You’ll get practice in car control and handling, as well.
Our PDX days are non-competitive and untimed so there is no pressure to perform beyond your comfort level.
Participants are separated by experience and expertise into three groups from Novice to Advanced with safety being the paramount goal. Of course, FUN is the real reason for participating and we do all we can to make your PDX one that will keep you smiling for a long time.
You don’t need a sports or performance car to participate; just a car (no trucks) with a hardtop (no convertibles,) and a valid driver’s license.
It's only $100 plus $15 (Weekend membership) for non-SCCA members!

Minneapolis Racing Tech Session - April 7th
Come join us as we also talk about ChumpCar and give away some ChumpGear! Start your day checking out the cars at AutoMotorplexon April 7th then drive over to Orr Autosport for a tech session on racing!
2012 Spring Orr Tech Seminar:
Orr Autosport welcomes racers and potential racers to a Tech Session on Saturday April 7th, starting at noon. This event will run about two hours.
Beverages and snacks will be provided.
The New Snell Helmet Requirements and more...
You know your old Snell 2000 Helmet ain't gonna cut this year, right? This new season will require Snell 2005 or later for all BMW CCA driving schools.
For many of us that means time to buy a new Snell 2010 helmet - and Mark Link is here to help. Mark will be talking about helmet selection as well as harnesses and Hans device features. Also, he'll touch on the new line of Big Brake kits from Performance Friction and some new gas-slotted brake rotors.
Race Cars! Orr Autosport is currently preparing Dan Huberty's full race spec E46 M3. Also on hand are three E36 M3 race cars and a few Chump cars.
Chris will talk about the successful progression of local drivers into Chumpcar and NASA sanctioned German Touring Car racing. Of course, this will be an audience-engaged conversation, open to questions and a range of related topics. Whether you are just thinking about taking your first driving school or you are a totally strung-out track junkie, there will be useful information for everyone.
The Tech Session starts at 12:00 Noon on April 7th and will go to around 2:00. Orr Autosport is located at 15180 Martin Drive in Eden Prairie.
Call Chris @ 952 922 1797 if you have any questions.
